What I Wore Wednesday: Eurovision, Sequins, Skulls and The Mad Blog Awards

This week I've been wearing military jackets and funny hats and representing Denmark in the Eurovision song competition and I made it to the finals!!! Okay I haven't but I've seriously been bombarded on Facebook and Twitter saying I look like the Danish Eurovision contestant--what do you think?
I do have Danish ancestry so I guess it isn't that big of a stretch. So I wasn't living it up in Azerbaijan at Eurovision semi-finals but I also wasn't really leaving the house in anything other than sweats. I had to play catch-up with work post-Cybher and NotBlondeHusband was out quite a lot so I really didn't leave the couch.

So I'm going to ask you all for help again. I've bought two tops from HM and not worn either of them because I'm not 100% sure how to style them.

I absolutely love the tops and with the weather getting warmer I'm running out of time to wear the sequinned top but also it isn't quite warm enough for just the skull tank top. How would you wear them?

Also a HUGE thank you to everyone who nominated me in The Mad Blog Awards because I am a finalist for best Fashion Blog! Thank you SO much! If you have a moment and you link up or like What I Wore Wednesday would you please vote for me?  I appreciate everyone's help!
MAD Blog Awards 2012
Voting is open until June 6th and can vote in as many or few categories as you like! So enough of me asking favours and on to the What I Wore Wednesday linky!

  1. OMG - I LOVE the skull top! I'd wear with skinny jeans, sandals, and if you're cold a cardigan, perhaps in pale pink.

  2. Both gorgeous! I think the sequin top would be fab with skinny jeans or even coloured jeans. The skull top too actually. I love H&M!

  3. I'd wear the tank with colored skinny jeans and maybe a jacket (blazer style) if it's cool.  Cute tops!

  4. I've fallen in love with that skull top.  And, just because everyone else says it, I KNEW I was right about the Denmark girl.

  5. I'm usually not a fan of skull-printed things, but when you add sequins I can't resist.  I think both tops would look good with black or another color skinny jeans.

  6. I love those two tops! And yeah, I would probably just wear them with jeans and flats.

  7. Cute tops! The Skull one i would wear over white or grey T shirt with a pair of skinnies. :)

  8. I would wear the sequin top over a striped tank dress and strappy heels. The wide neckline will allow a bit of the dress to be peeking out and it will be a cool twist on a classic look. Thanks for hosting this link!

  11. I'd love to see the skull tank with a softer blazer - printed tees under structured colored blazers is one of my favorite looks!!

  27. Hi Melaina! I like your sequined top, but I am not sure how I would wear it. It looks silver, so maybe with charcoal jeans and a nice pair of flats if it isn't too dressy, and a silver skirt, if it is?

  28. Cute top!  I'd probably pair it with skinnies, but my wardrobe is pretty limited (and I won't touch leggings).  Thanks for the post!

  29. I like both those tops.  I reckon they'd both look great with skinny jeans and flats.  You could wear the skull tank tucked into shorts and that would work, too.

  30. Sequin top I would wear with white skinnies, am loving the tone on tone look at the moment. Adore the skull top but really not sure how I would wear it, probably as an evening look with super skinnies and super heels. x

  33. If last summer is anything to go by I'm sure you'll still have time for the sequin top! I do love a bit of sparkle but think either would be fab with jeans or a denim skirt maybe? Love the link up, I'm a What I Wore virgin linking in at the eleventh hour! :)

  34. My ass is not suitable for white skinnies and I will leave it at that lol. That is how I'm feeling about the tank--I had to have it but not sure how to wear it!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Thanks! I'm not comfortable enough with my c-section tummy to tuck in shirts but that would be cute on someone without a muffin overhang :)

  36. I like leggings but not as pants. LEGGINGS ARE NOT PANTS :)

  37. It is actually more gold and cream and believe it or not is sort of sweatshirt material. A weird combo I know!

  38. Thanks! Who doesn't love sparkle?

  39. Thanks! I really need to lose 5lbs and fit in my skinny jeans!

  45.  I *thought* it was golden but then the 2nd pic made it look silver, so I wondered if it was lighting. Well, gold and creamy is great for your coloring! Almost an extension of it, which means you could wear it with a lot of things. Jeans, creamy pants, light brown. Lots of options! Good find!!

  52. I would probably just throw a bright colored cardigan on top of the fun skull tank top! Thanks for hosting :)

    ReplyDelete
  53. Both tops are great, can't wait to see which you decide to wear :)

  54. I LOVE that tank top. I think it would look great with a blazer. Does it work with your black one? Otherwise it might be a nice excuse to do some more shopping. You could also wear a long sleeve t-shirt under it until it warms up. I think a striped black and white would be fun, but any of those other colors would work. I wear my jean jacket over tanks a lot until it warms up.
