BGT: Quit already

I do not like Susan Boyle and I don't care what her story is the bottom line is she's not a great singer. If she'd walked out on that stage blonde and attractive, she wouldn't have made it past the first round of Britain's Got Talent. She's there because she came out looking a hot mess and it was surprising for her to sing well. She's not a bad singer, but she's not great or anywhere near what the media has made her out to be.

If there hadn't been such a media frenzy around her, I really don't think she'd have made it through the second round of public votes either. There are rumours she is going to quit the show or be told to leave and honestly, I hope she does.

There are some people who are actually talented and not just awkward and with a sad story to tell. I know the viewers of BGT vote for little kids and sob-stories, but COME ON! At least vote for the little kids/sob story that has talent, not the one who doesn't. These are my favorite finalists so far in no particular order:

Diversity

Shaheen

Who should have made it through:

Two more finalists get picked tonight, but I still think Natalie should have made it through. It won't let me embed the video but you can see her precocious performance here. Now tell me Susan Boyle is better than her? That's right you can't.

Happy 3rd Anniversary!

Today is my BFF Sabrina's 3rd wedding anniversary and the first anniversary of moving into her and her husband's first home.

Apparently the traditional 3rd anniversary present in leather so here's a somewhat creepy leather daschund bag! Congrats!!!

The rumours aren't true

I can dispel those Adam Lambert sexuality rumours once and for all. He and I made out hard core in my dream last night, so *obviously* he likes chicks.

We were in some kind of play/musical together and I believe Libby Kennedy was trying to steal my part, but she couldn't. Anyway we played a couple in the show and were all about it off stage, too.

Was I dreaming about making out with Kris "no upper lip" Allen? No. It's obvious who the *real* American Idol is and he's crept into my subconscious!

You can't escape the Glam!

Breast Cancer Petition

I think everyone has been touched by Breast Cancer in some way. My Aunt Donna, who gave me Gee Gee, is a Breast Cancer survivor for over 15 years now. I know I blog a lot about stupid things like Peter & Katie and other randomness, but please take two seconds to sign the petition or contact your local representative.

The Bipartisan Breast Cancer Patient Protection Act Needs Your Support! This week Representatives Rosa DeLauro (D-Connecticut) and Joe Barton (R-Texas) and Senators Mary Landrieu (D-Louisiana) and Olympia Snowe (R-Maine) will re-introduce the bipartisan Breast Cancer Patient Protection Act in Congress. Thanks to its viewers, Lifetime has so far collected more than 23 million online petition signatures urging Congress to pass this critical legislation, which would end the practice of so-called "drive-through" mastectomies when women are forced out of the hospital only hours after invasive breast cancer surgery.

Help restore patient and consumer rights to breast cancer patients and their families:
Sign Lifetime's growing petition. Lifetime will continue to deliver the signatures to Congress and make your voice heard.

Share your story. If you or someone you love has experienced a drive-through mastectomy, we want to know. Tell us in the official Breast Cancer Survivor community discussion.

Call or write your members of Congress and ask them to support the Breast Cancer Patient Protection Act. You may reach your member of Congress by calling the U.S. House of Representatives switchboard at 202-225-3121. To find your representative in Congress, go to: http://www.house.gov/house/MemberWWW.shtml.

A Moment of Silence

Peter Andre and Katie Price are separating after four-and-a-half years of marriage. They have both requested that the media respect their families’ privacy at this difficult time." -The Sun

I love me some Katie, Peter, Harvey, Junior and Princess, but is the break-up really worthy of the front page of CNN?

Loch Fyne

Today was the May bank holiday in the UK and since I had the day off work we decided to go for a mini-break. After considering our options we decided to go to Loch Fyne which is just under a 2 hours drive from Glasgow.

The drive itself is really nice as you drive along Loch Lomand, the Trossachs and the Argyll forest. You also pass several sea lochs or inlets on the way. It is really a goregous part of Scotland and it's crazy who rolling and rural it gets less than 20 minutes outsie of Glasgow.

We stayed right on the edge of Loch Fyne in Inverary, which while it's a big town for those parts, is tiny.

I ate some delicious mussels, had a wander about town and in general we just relaxed and enjoyed some time away just the two of us. I'd highly recommend it for a short break, I think anything over 2 days, you'd run out of things to do!

You may want to click on the link below since the slideshow is zooming randomly making the photos hard to see.
