What I Wore Wednesday: Post Natal PJs

So two weeks ago I asked y'all for help to find some maternity nightwear. I really thought I'd hit a dead end but then the lovely Lynn from More 4 Mums reached out to me and asked if I'd like to try the Hot Milk Twilight Nightie that they stock. 

It has an internal shelf bra for modesty and support, and easy to pull down if you choose to breastfeed. The front has a lace insert and the ruching detail provides a flattering fit for both during pregnancy and after. I was honestly really surprised at how supportive the shelf is as normally tops with shelves are pointless for me; it's not something you'd wear out in public without a bra but more than supportive for around the hospital or home. I'm currently a 34GG so if it can support me it can support anyone! 

Cute and comfortable, stylish and supportive--what more could I ask for? The material is also really soft as well so it won't scratch or irritate my incision. 

I also got a large pink flannel nightshirt from Tesco (in case the ward is cold) and a Ramone's tee and legging PJ set from Primark (so I can walk off/around the ward) as well. I don't know how many days I'll be in hospital but I figure 3 options means if I have all eventualities covered and NBH doesn't have to scramble to wash anything if I get puked or pooped (nice!) on by our new arrival, either!

What I Wore Wednesday: Christmas Onesie

So last week was my work Christmas party, this week it is the turn of the Scottish Blogger Christmas party! My fellow lassie Steph and I headed off the the newly relaunched October on the top of Princes Square for some festive fun organized by Paula and Scott.

The theme of the evening was festive family fun so instead of going for Christmas sweaters Stephie and I decided that we need to go big--and big we went with Christmas onesies.

I've never worn a onesie in my life (okay maybe as a baby) and never in public! We got a lot of double takes walking down Buchanan Street but it was so much fun. I will say that onesies are not exactly flattering and because we are both on the shorter side we had the massive pouch of fupa fabric leftover that was umm not very attractive!

The night was so much fun with goodie bags filled to the brim with treats from the likes of Blanx, Lush, Metcalfe Skinny and more!

There were lots of cocktails (ours had glowsticks in them!), a charity raffle, secret santa and just a great time catching up with bloggy friends. It is always great to meet people you chat with on twitter and put a face to the avatar!

I think I'll be retiring my onesie for now though; what do you think about onesies? Fashion favourite or fashion faux-pas?

What I Wore Wednesday: Meet Mostly Yummy Mummy

This week the very lovely and very stylish Mostly Yummy Mummy is stepping in and taking over the What I Wore Wednesday helm on my behalf. Unfortunately I've had to fly home to Ohio as my grandfather has passed away. It's safe to say that Autumn has well and truly arrived in Yorkshire and after a huge wardrobe sort out last week, I'm well and truly ready for it! I think autumn might actually be my favourite time of year and after having what felt like a real summer here this year, I'm ready to say goodbye to my sandals and hello to my boots. Especially when they happen to be glittery ankle boots like these! 

I picked up this dress from Joules earlier in the year in the sale and I love it. In fact, I love it so much that I have it in red too! I like the empire line as it makes it a really easy to wear every day dress and I love the bright floral pattern. Nobody does floral patterns quite as well as Joules. And just in case the dress wasn't bright enough, I've put it with bright magenta pink tights. My teenagers hate me wearing coloured tights but hey, what do they know? Ha!

What I Wore Wednesday: Accessories

I could tell you my view on accessories was shaped by Coco Chanel's comment "Before you leave the house, look in the mirror and remove one accessory" but if I'm being honest it's shaped from "too many accessories clutter an outfit" from Troop Beverly Hills. Maybe it's not as chic but those girls ditching their badges is what I always think of when adding accessories to any outfit. Then I start doing the Freddie and sing Cookie Time but I digress.

I've been trying to make the most of the clothes I already have rather then buy a new wardrobe for work. I'm not 100% happy with the size I am so buying new clothes isn't at the top of my agenda. So instead I'm trying accessorize what I have to create different looks and to add to the dresses and skirts I already have.

I'm a sucker for bright colours and funky prints so while these aren't exactly work wear I am absolutely in love with my new rainbow socks from Primark. I'm one of those people who can't wear white socks at least I assume I'm one of those people maybe I'm the only one!

I was cleaning out my wallet the other night and I found a credit voucher for New Look--score!--and then popped in store to find they had a massive sale on--double score! I'd seen a similar ribbon necklace in a magazine a while back so I had to get this gorgeous rainbow ribbon necklace since it was technically free thanks to my found credit note! I don't normally wear gold but I like how it works with all the different colours.

I'm not sure nails are normally classed as an accessory but I think that nail polish certainly can accessorize with an outfit. I've been pretty religious about painting my nails since I've gone back to work in an office and I've had a lot of fun experimenting with different designs and colours. This Maybelline Color Show Nails Polka Dot topcoat over reminds me of jawbreakers candy and it won me some NailGirls polish on twitter in their nail art competition!

What I Wore Wednesay: Christmas

Did everyone have a great holiday? I hope y'all got everything you wanted and got to share some time with people you love!  This week I'm linking up our Christmas Eve and Christmas dinner outfits. My MIL and I got NotBlondeHusband's shirt on Christmas Eve last minute. Blondie Boy loved that "cookie monkey" was on his Daddy's tummy so it was a great buy.
