What I Wore Wednesday: Meet Big Fashionista

As you are reading this we are on our way to France--hooray! I've been so looking forward to a vacation and so happy to be back with Eurocamp again. Of course in the run up to all of this Blondie Boy has been sick (he's finally perked back up!) so the fabulous Kellie from Big Fashionista has stepped in with a guest post today.

Kellie is not shy, from her bright and bold hair colours to voicing her opinion on controversial topics you can count on her to stand out from the crowd. I'm in love with the look she's shared this week (you know I love skulls!) so I will pass you over to her!

Think of a dress that you own that makes you happy the minute you slip it on. This Hell Bunny dress is mine. A sneaky eBay purchase, I loved the print immediately and had to have it.  I've worn it a couple of times now, it's a dress that I want to wear more but it is very memorable and hard to wear around the same people more than twice.

The dress is sleeveless but I really dislike my arms so I usually wear it with a bolero.

On my feet I either glam the dress up with heels or I've been known to wear it with Converse.

And jewellery? It has to be this.

Let's be friends! Find me here:

What I Wore Wednesday: 30/60th Birthday Party

Fair Isle Skulls

This past Friday was my Mother-in-Law's 60th and Sister-in-Law's 30th Birthday Party--they share a birthday, the day after Blondie Boy's (party was earlier to catch people home for holidays), so they shared a party, too! Blondie Boy's Auntie Jefy was nice enough to watch him so NotBlondeHusband and I could both attend since BB wouldn't be allowed in the pub after 8pm.

NBH wore the Fair Isle Skull Cardigan I got him for Christmas with some jeans but I didn't have as easy of a time picking out what I was going to wear. It was absolutely blowing a gale outside so a dress or skirt was out of the question.

At first I'd planned to wear my gold sequinned sweatshirt that I got over a year ago and still haven't worn but I wasn't 100% comfortable in it and then NBH said he liked a second top I tried on so I went with that.  The whole outfit was based around my new studded heels I got in the New Look sale for just £10!

Skull Gem Eyes Pendant

How cool is this silver skull necklace NBH got me for Christmas? It has Tanzanite eyes as well even though somehow they look really washed out in this photo they are a light blue shade of Tanzanite.

Metallic Spike Ring

I got this spiky ring in the New Look sale too for just £1. I wasn't sure about it but I figured for £1 I could take the risk and I LOVE it! It's a bit over the top and only fits on my pinky but it is one of my new favourites!

We had a great night celebrating both birthdays and I managed to make it through the whole night without taking off my shoes or stabbing anyone with my ring :) I'm sure lots of you will be linking up New Year's Eve outfits this week but NBH was working so while I did have a play around with chalking my hair no fancy outfit for me! What did you do for New Year's Eve? Do you prefer to go out or stay in?

What I Wore Wednesday: Retirement Celebration

Last Thursday my Mother-in-Law retired so NotBlondeHusband, Blondie Boy and I went out to dinner with her to celebrate. I bought yet another Cynthia Rowley dress from TK Maxx and hadn't worn it yet so decided now was the time! Unfortunately it was pouring rain and blowing a gale so I couldn't wear cute shoes. I know some people are very, very, very anti sheepskin style boots but when it is disgustingly cold and wet outside and you are running to and from the car with a toddler cute shoes just don't cut it!

Chelsea Skull Scarf
Cynthia Rowley Dress
M&S Leggings
Sketchers Boots

I had to bundle up with my skull scarf and my Zara coat. I some how managed to lose my favourite black leggings in our massive clear out so I had to go buy a new pair but used a gift card I found in said clear out so not a total loss.

I even busted out my Katy Perry "Oh Honey" fake eyelashes. I've only worn them once before but I love them. They are easy to put on and after that initial weird fake eyelash feeling I don't even notice they are on!

I love this nail polish I got at the grocery for only 89p! Plus it is Fast Dry which I love because I'm impatient.

The dress has pockets which I love and zip detailing on the back that I forgot to take a photo of! I'm planning on wearing it when I fly down to London to go into the office this week. I'm thinking with my leopard heels? Do you think that would work?

What I Wore Wednesday: Guns N Roses Glasgow

This week's What I Wore Wednesday day is brought to you by the power of Social Media. I had just finished putting on after-sun after getting my first sunburn of the year and was settling in for a night alone on the couch when I saw that Julie, who I used to work with at a bar over 6 years ago, had a spare Guns N Roses ticket for the Glasgow show. Seriously I don't think I've ever loved Facebook more than this moment. I got to go see one of my favourite bands of all time because of a very generous friend and it was AWESOME.
Julie and I: I may be just a little excited
I fully expected to go and be really sad I never got to see Guns N Roses back in the day but holy crap Axl Rose has still got it. He sang, screeched, swayed and shimmied just like in all the videos I loved so much that I dressed up like him and stuck a hairbrush in a broomstick to make a microphone and recreate his moves (luckily for me I have no idea where these photos now are).

Axl has still got it
November Rain was *the* song to dance to with the guy you liked at my Junior High dances not just because the song was AMAZING but because you got to dance with that guy for almost double the time of any other song. I can remember getting really pissed off when radio stations cut out the piano break and shortened the song-- how dare they? I'm shocked my cassingle didn't wear out from being overplayed on my boombox.

Axl started playing "November Rain" on the piano & no shit I cried
They played for over three hours and the show didn't end until after 1:30am--Glasgow has a concert curfew so how they got around that I don't know. I really can't complain about anything about the show; yes Axl did sneak off stage quite a lot during guitar solos and such so maybe there is some truth to those oxygen tank rumours but he did not disappoint when he was on stage in the slightest. They played all of my favourite Use your Illusion I and II songs plus pretty much every single released since 1987.

I freaked out when they played "Patience" during the encore which is my all time favourite Guns N Roses song. No one really knows the song but I adore it so much we had a string quartet version of it at our wedding. I'd post the video I took but umm yea you can hear me in the background and my vocal stylings weren't up to their normal standards after singing along for three hours!

I didn't take a picture before I left the house so I took this photo when I got home at 3am---it took ages to get a taxi--so I'm not my freshest but I was definitely still on a major high from the show! I can not express how grateful and appreciative I am that Julie let me have her extra Glasgow ticket.

Cropped Blazer- HM
Multicoloured Skull Tank- HM
Skullie Bracelet-Amima
Fiji Friendship Bracelet-Monica Vinader
Black Hoops Earrings- Walmart
The Flirt Jeans-Old Navy
Blue Flip Flops- Old Navy

Ideally I would have worn heels but I know me and I knew I'd be jumping up and down and dancing and flip flops seemed way more practical. I ditched the blazer inside the venue because like most shows it was super hot (even more so since we were having a heat wave). So now I've actually worn the things I posted looking for advice on how to wear! Thanks to everyone who suggested pairing the skull tank with the blazer.

Is there any band from back in the day that are still touring and you are dying to see? Or did you finally see your favourite band recently? Did it live up to the hype or not?

What I Wore Wednesday: What Should I Wear?

So here's the craic, I'm sick. I caught Blondie Boy's crud and my American immune system doesn't handle European bugs that great so it's resulted in me being on antibiotics and well basically looking like a hot mess. So there is no what I wore this week because I've not left my bed--and my hair would scare you.

What I do need is y'all's help. This Saturday is Cybher and I'm crazy honoured to be speaking.  The thing is I don't know what I'm going to wear; I got two dresses but I'm just not that sure about them. I know I want to wear a skull bracelet I bought in Mallorca but that is it and I kinda need a bit more coverage.

So be my stylist---please! What would you pair this bracelet with for my speaking engagement?

I have the hot pink rope and purple skullie (I think, I'm too tired to go dig it out of my suitcase--don't judge me for not unpacking) by Amima. I found it in a wee jewellery shop in Palma and it turns out Amima are a Mallorcan jewellery company so how cool is that? It also seems I've made a bit of a trend of buying skull accessories while on holiday so we'll have to see if I can keep it up!

So what would you pair this bracelet with? Bonus points for links!
