Veterans/Remembrance Day

Today is Veterans Day. I think in the States we tend to put more importance on Memorial Day in May, but here in the UK it is the main day to honor veterans. We call it Remembrance Day and it marks the Armistice from WWI. In the weeks before plastic poppies are sold to raise money and to show your support for those who served.

While my Grandpa never left the US, he was member of the Armed Services and also worked all his career as a civilian at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio. I went to the VA website and they have posters from the last 30 years. I've picked out a few based on important years in my life. You can see them all on the VA website.
