What I Wore Wednesday: Studs, Skulls & Leopard Remix

I'm still struggling to pull together new outfits out of the clothes that I have and make them work for the office. My office is quite conservative with a "casual" Friday so with the exception of Fridays I'm wearing dresses every day. I tend to fall back on my go-to Cynthia Rowley dresses over and over again but I decided that I need some basic solid coloured dresses that I can accessorize differently.

I was out at ASDA to get a new smoothie cup since I broke mine after only one week and I noticed a grey flock-effect dress for just £10! So I grabbed it without trying it on and hoped it would work and luckily it fit. I think it is a great basic piece without being too boring that hopefully I can dress up or down with difference accessories.

Sugar Skull Neon Pendant- New Look
Black Studded Bag- Thailand's Finest
Black Leggings- Marks and Spencer
Leopard Heels-Dune

I'm really not sure about this pendant. It was only £2 in the New Look sale and I bought it thinking I'd take the sugar skull and make it into a keychain but thought I'd try it as a necklace first. I felt like Joan Holloway with her gold pen necklace all day and ended up taking it off because it was bouncing off my chest I when I walked and my desk when I sat. I do like the pop of neon pink but I'm still unsure.

I've said that my bag is "Thailand's Finest" but that actually isn't a brand but just refers to the back that my FIL and his wife got it for me in Thailand! If you've never been to Bangkok there are lots and lots of purses; some with "brands" and some without. I love the studs and the bow on this bag and it's big enough for my stuff but not too big to take out to dinner.

Hopefully I'll get a lot of wear out of this dress and style it lots of different ways. How would you wear this dress? What accessories? Shoes? Tights? Let me know how I should style it next!

The most clicked on link last week was the ever so lovely Lauren from Real Housewife of Suffolk! Would y'all like to know who go the most clicks each week? I can also enable voting to pick an "outfit of the week" would you be interested or not in that option?

What I Wore Wednesday: Mallorca

I don't think I mentioned it here but last weekend I took a mini-break to Mallorca for some sun and relaxation. For those who don't know Mallorca (also called Majorca-the spelling I defer to is the Catalan while the one here is Spanish) is the largest of a group of islands called the Balearics off the east coast of Spain in the Mediterranean sea.

I got mega-crazy cheap flights as well as an amazing deal at the Barceló hotel in Cala Viñas which is a really beautiful and quiet part of the island. It is close enough to "livlier" areas if you are down for that sort of thing and only 20 minutes from Palma and 25 from Palma airport-- hiring a car again was mega cheap.

I usually don't like going back to the same place twice but I'd really love to go back with NotBlondeHusband and Blondie Boy. It is only a 2 1/2 hour flight or so from Glasgow so it really is an ideal short-haul journey. That being said the lost cost airline I took out was a freaking nightmare--not because of the staff, but because of the other passengers; that is another story for another time.

I refuse to pay the crazy prices low-cost airlines charge for checked luggage so I had to limit what I brought with me. Here is what I wore on my mini-break to Mallorca:

Flying Out: Note to self- White Top and Black Cardigan makes my boobs look even more ginourmous than normal-- avoid! I always like to wear layers on flights because planes almost always end up cold when in the  air. I ended up losing the scarf and sweater when we landed as I was roasting even though it was 9pm!

White Top- Dunnes
Black Oversized Collar Cardigan- Banana Republic

Site seeing around Palma: I went with a tank top and jeans. I was tempted to wear a sundress but I just thought I'd be more comfortable in jeans and I was right. It was a little hot but not sweaty hot and as there are lots of winding streets it was cooler in the shade walking around.

Chilling on the Beach: My mother-in-law brought me back this sundress back from her honeymoon in Florida and it made the perfect beach cover-up since it also didn't look out of place sitting at the beach bar having a daiquiri either! I'd normally never pick orange for myself so I was pleasantly surprised that it worked!

Dinner: I busted out my favourite maxi dress for dinner and made the most of the sea air (with the help of my curling wand) and went for beach waves with my hair. Can you tell I liked this bridge between the building my room was in and the one the restaurant was in for photos?

What I Wore Wednesday: Belated UK Mother's Day

This past Saturday we took NBH's Mom out for lunch to The Sisters, an amazing restaurant that if you are in Glasgow you have to try, for a belated Mother's Day lunch with his sister and Blondie Boy. I'm really not sure why but Mother's Day in the UK is in March as opposed to May like in the USA.  Regardless it was a great reason to have a ridiculously amazing lunch with family.

The Sisters is a small and elegant but not overly stuffy so I decided to take advantage of the nice weather and break out a maxi dress I hadn't worn since our trip to Blackpool last summer. I paired it with flip flops so it wouldn't be too formal and a cardigan because while it was nice it was still March in Glasgow.

What I Wore Wednesday: Errands

I actually did get dressed up again this week when NBH and I went out to the Treehouse for dinner and drinks with our friends Craig and Clair. I wore the exact same outfit as I did to the theatre except I switched in my sparkly Loft top; I loved the outfit but didn't want to link up an almost identical outfit two weeks in a row. So instead I decided to "keep it real". Here is what we wore to run errands today; not glamorous but a pretty good representation of my every day look.

What do you think about the heart by the way? Do I have to take it down now Valentine's Day is over or is it a year-round kind of decoration?
