What I Wore Wednesday: Meet Bex

I'm really lucky that there are so many friendly and helpful bloggers in Glasgow! I've met Bex from Olive Dragonfly at a few different events and she's just as sweet as she comes across on her blog.  You'll recognize her as a regular What I Wore Wednesday linker and a lover of accessories!

I had just been thinking how I had a lot of outfits pictures from the last month ready to write up for my blog (Olive Dragonfly) when I noticed on Twitter that the lovely Transatlantic Blonde was looking for someone to guest post for What I Wore Wednesday so I volunteered.  :)  (It's also doubling up as this week's Pin It Do It on my blog, featuring Michelle Obama!)

I had a great night out at Grill on the Corner recently with some fellow Glasgow bloggers and I wore what turned out to be a selection of sale garments!

My bright pink cheerful jumper was just £7 from the GAP sale a couple of years ago, the black statement necklace is from Argento a couple of weeks ago.  The leopard print shoes were from Nine West in the Debenhams' summer sale and I've been waiting for warmer weather to wear them but in the end couldn't wait and settled for dry weather!  Even my scarf and belt were from the Accessorize sale and the Jasper Conran coat was bought during one of Debenhams' 25% off designers offers.

Only my bag and brooch were full price and both still bargains :)  The bag was £14.99 from HM and the pewter dragonfly brooch was £16 from Lady Crow Silks at a Christmas Fayre.

I had a brilliant night with the girls and really enjoyed my steak with blue cheese sauce!

As you can probably tell, I'm a bit obsessed with accessories, especially big, statement ones!  Are any of you partial to a statement necklace or jewelled belt?

What I Wore Wednesday

If you read my 3 F's post it won't come as a shock to you that I don't have a photo of anything I wore this past week. Yesterday I wore my size bigger jeans and a man's sweater (too small for NBH but too big on me)--it's been dire y'all. I'm currently sitting with shampoo and Vitamin-C concoction to strip my hair so no last minute photo in that.

MAD Blog Awards 2012So this week here here is me from the MAD Blog Awards last year. Y'all were nice enough to nominate me last year and I had a great time attending the awards and rocking this amazing outfit from John Lewis.

If you like my blog and feel so obliged you can nominate it or any other eligible UK parenting blog until 5pm Friday; just enter
http://transatlanticblonde.blogspot.com in whatever category you choose. There are lots of categories to choose from but you do not have to nominate in them all. I'll leave it up to you to decide where I fit!

What I Wore Wednesday: Dinner Out

NotBlondeHusband, Blondie Boy and I went out for dinner with NBH's Dad and his wife last Saturday to The Grill on the Corner, a really good steakhouse in Glasgow. If you're in the UK you can apply for a membership card that get you 40% off your bill when you book online! Who's going to say no to 40% off steak? Not me that is for sure!

It's a nice restaurant but not super fancy and since I knew I'd be coming home with BB right after I wanted something that wasn't too fussy. I've seen lots of y'all linking up stripes in your posts so I decided to take a note and pull out a striped sweater of mine I hadn't worn in a while.

I thought it was a little monochromatic so I threw on this necklace (which Blondie Boy told me was bootiful) I got in Amsterdam 7 years ago. It is hard to tell from the photo but it is various shades of fuchsia. Would you all like "detail" shots of my look each week or do you not care?

What I Wore Wednesday: Versace is Business Appropriate Right?

Last Friday I helped throw a blogger and brand event for one of my clients. I wanted to look professional but not too stuffy so I opted for my Versace for HM skirt and paired it with leggings to make it less formal. Please note this photo was taken at home once I finally got back from the airport at the end of a 13 hour day so please excuse the flat hair and tired look!

I also had to take a picture of my Rabbi's Daughters travel bag. My Mom got is for me and I LOVE it. Not only is it covered in Yiddish words but it is the perfect size for an overnight trip; holds everything I need and fits under the seat on the plane. Please note this added bit of genius I've never seen before: that zip? It is for a pocket inside the bag that holds all your liquids and toiletries. So not only are my liquids easy to access at security but if they spill they don't get all over my clothes! Brilliant!

Apologies if I'm sounding like a wackadoo here but when you fly semi-regularly for business a fashionable and functional carry on bag is quite possibly the best thing ever. Seriously I plotzed.

If you you are Jewish (or just love Yiddish sayings) and don't know about Rabbi's Daughters you best be clicking because their adult and children lines are super cute. I have a Shayna Punim T-shirt and Blondie Boy has several of their toddler tees. This isn't sponsored in any way shape or form--I just love their products!
